Chapter 8- The Give Up and The Gain (Video)

This week, we are discussing key points from chapter 8 of “When God Vetoes Your Plan”. Your thoughts, comments and questions are welcomed!! May you be inspired and encouraged as we travel through the limitless life that God is making available to us!! Key Points There are sacrifices to be made in this life but there are also things that you will gain as a result of what you gave. What God desires to give you will be always be above and beyond what you have given. Think not of what you had to give up, rather think of what you were able to keep. Life is not about what was lost but the ability to believe in the power of God being able to restore those things. Live life beyond what you have, trusting God for more. Lack is not a state of being, it’s a state of mind. You can have much, but mentally have nothing at all. Give God the desires of your heart and allow him to do what you can’t do for yourself. Feel free to leave comments, questions, and thoughts!! All comments are welcomed and appreciated! I pray that you enjoy this week’s Video...

A Key to Forgiveness by Alexis McMordie

A Key to Forgiveness by Alexis McMordie

A Key to Forgiveness Last week I learned something that really touched my life tremendously and I would love to share it with you. It is a great lesson to be learned and I strongly believe that all need to hear it! Whether it be forgiving yourself or forgiving someone, we forgive them for what they did to us or what we’ve done to ourselves; that’s what forgiving is but there is a key part that we are leaving out. When you forgive someone you must stop, drop, and run. It’s a process that we leave out day to day called forgiveness. An example being; when someone goes to talk about someone behind their back, you must stop. Politely tell them to stop talking about them. No matter how tempting. Self control is important. Next is drop; forget what that person did or tempted you to do. This is not always easy but you can do it for God. In Mark chapter 11 verse 25 it states, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Let it drop. Let go of what is stopping you from being forgiven. You are in control of your mind, nothing else; therefore take charge of it. After you stop, and drop; last is run. Run from not fully forgiving or accepting someone’s forgiveness. Satan wants you to fall into his trap! DON’T fall for it. You are so much better than that! When Satan sees that he has lost, he dies inside. There is power in healing....
The Lie of the Highlight Reel/Laugh at my Pain

The Lie of the Highlight Reel/Laugh at my Pain

Have you ever seen or heard about the accomplishments of someone, and immediately began to feel like your life had little significance in the grand scheme of things in comparison? I know, I sure have. I have been found guilty plenty of times of comparing my life to the highlight reels of others. I’ve even have had days where I’ve felt like, “Why even bother. I’ll never accomplish this or that”. Can I tell you that this is a tool that has been perfectly crafted for your defeat. That’s right! If you begin to compare your “right now” to the “highlight reels” of others you will always feel like you are losing. That’s the goal and purpose of comparison: To have the power of victory but the mindset of  defeat. However, can I tell you that everyone has a story and everyone has a journey that has brought them to the accomplishments that you see today. I have found myself quite interested in the journey of none other than comedian, Kevin Hart. I have watched him emerge from what seemed to be the shadows, only to discover his personal journey with a father struggling with drug addiction and his mother passing away from cancer before seeing some of the great accomplishments of his life. However, I couldn’t help but want to learn a bit more about his journey. I found out a few things, are you ready for this? His career began very slow He was booed off of stages He tried to imitate other comedians but had to learn to be completely original He was told to stop...
